The Centre for Social Justice is an independent thinktank set up in 2004 by the Rt. Hon Iain Duncan Smith MP, to advance the education of the public in the subject of social justice and to promote the role of the voluntary sector. The CSJ involves figures from across the political spectrum in its governance structure, research and events, such as Labour politicians Rt. Hon Frank Field MP, Lord Reid of Cardowan (John Reid), and Rt. Hon David Blunkett MP, and Liberal Democrat politicians Menzies Campbell MP and Rt. Hon Charles Kennedy MP.
