The Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy is an independent economic think-tank headquartered in Mumbai, India. It provides information solutions in the form of databases and research reports. CMIE has built the largest database on the Indian economy and companies.

The Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy is a research group based in India.

It was founded by Narottam Shah in 1976. When he died in 1984, it was headed by D. T. Lakdawala. Since then it has been headed by Mahesh Vyas.
